Book Reviews

I have joined the Book Review Bloggers program from Thomas Nelson, and so will likely be adding to this section enough to make it worth its own page. We shall see.

In any case, here is an ongoing link depot for all of my book reviews posted on this blog. I’ll make a note of which ones are Thomas Nelson books.

I also have some other book-related posts (memoriam for Madeline L’Engle, a review of the movie “Prince Caspian,” etc.), but those aren’t here. This is just for outright book reviews.

The first book that I reviewed on this site was the wonderful The Qwikpick Adventure Society by Sam Riddleburger. I reviewed it on March 5, 2008.

It was months later that I reviewed On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness by Andrew Peterson, best known as a singer-songwriter, but also a lover of fantasy novels and clean limericks. I reviewed it on August 16, 2008.

Sam Riddleburger was kind enough to send me a copy of CeCe Bell’s Bee-Wigged, a wonderful picture book, to review. I did so on August 23, 2008.

Most exciting to me was Stonewall Hinkleman and the Battle of Bull Run by Sam Riddleburger and Michael Hemphill. Sam Riddleburger sent me an Advance Review Copy of the book on the condition that I review it. I did so on August 25, 2008.

My first Thomas Nelson book was My Little Girl written by Tim McGraw and Tom Douglas, illustrated by Julia Denos. I received and reviewed it on November 18, 2008.

On November 25, 2008 I commented on the prologue and first two chapters of Do the Right Thing by Mike Huckabee.

More will be coming, of course …

Very cool! This is the first I’d heard of Thomas Nelson’s program. I just signed up and will be reviewing Christianity in Crisis soon.
