Chrstian Carnival CCXVII
March 26, 2008 — wickleThe 217th Christian Carnival is posted at Diary of 1, and I would encourage you to check it out, as always.
It’s arranged this week into attributes of God, which I think is very clever.
The Christian Carnival is a weekly collection of blogs submitted by the writers, and represent Christian thoughts about anything. This week, I even participated.
Enjoy!

So someone different puts it together every week?
Who’s the contact if you want to submit a post, and do you have to be a member of an organization to post?
Enough with the questions already??

What … you wanted information after I suggested you participate? Funny …
Yes, it’s hosted at a different blog each Wednesday. The schedule is available at:
http://groups.google.com/group/christian-carnival-ii/web/future-carnival-schedule?hl=en
There’s a lot more information at Parableman, which is conveniently located at:
http://parablemania.ektopos.com/archives/2008/03/christian_carni_411.html#more
There’s a submission form and e-mail address available there, as well as full instructions.
The Christian Carnival button at the top left of my main page will also bring you to a much-older list of submission guidelines and instructions.
You don’t have to be part of any particular organization or anything … but you do have to be a Christian and a blogger. That’s about it … so I think you’ve met the basic criteria!
And feel free to ask questions, any time.
I first encountered a number of my favorite blogs on the Christian Carnival — Necessary Therapy, Bounded Irrationality, the Evangelical Ecologist, and Diary of 1 come to mind … others, I don’t remember how I found them. I found the Carnival itself by way of Parableman … I don’t remember what brought me to that one.
As to the other question … Well, that should take some time.
1) First, you need to upload the picture into your WordPress uploads. The only way I know how to do this is to be in the New Post area. Down at the bottom of the page you’ll have the option to upload files.
2) That will put the file into your uploads, and it will have its own URL. You’ll need to go into Browse Uploads to get that address. I suggest writing it down (or copying it into a handy word processor), just because you’ll be doing enough stuff and if you leave it in the clipboard, you might lose it.
3) Now, from your top bar, choose Presentation, and then Widgets.
4) Bring up a Text widget from the choices in the bottom.
5) The code to make a button has two URL’s — the first is the target for the button, the second is the link to the picture. The code below is the Pro-Life blogs button, except that I removed the beginning and end. If you take that code and stick in front a “” you’ll have the same button that I have for Pro-Life Blogs.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
