My letter to the NRLC

I encourage every Mike Huckabee supporter to contact the National Right to Life Committee as soon as possible on this issue. And thanks to Kingdom Advancer of We Want a Christian President for reminding me of this opportunity.

Previously, the NRLC had endorsed Fred Thompson in the GOP primary. A lot of us questioned the decision at the time, but that’s not the point now … the point now is to encourage them to decide for Mike Huckabee. So, please, send them an e-mail at nrlc (at) nrlc.org and ask the Committee to put its support behind Mike Huckabee. Read the rest of this entry »

Duncan Hunter endorses Mike Huckabee

I had hoped for as much, but wasn’t sure what to expect …

However, it’s really happened. My #2 pick, having withdrawn, has backed my favored candidate in the field of Republicans running for President.

Rep. Duncan Hunter has endorsed Gov. Mike Huckabee for President.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — California Rep. Duncan Hunter, a former presidential candidate, announced Wednesday he is endorsing Mike Huckabee’s White House bid.

“I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail,” Huckabee said in a statement. “Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China’s emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of America’s industrial base.

“Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee’s candidacy that compels my endorsement,” he added. “Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well.”

If we like Mike …

… I try not to talk about campaign money much on this blog. Maybe that’s a mistake, I’m not sure.

But right now, the Huckabee campaign needs whatever contributions you can make.

John at Vets for Mike posted a reminder about this, and asked people to come to his fundraiser. I’d encourage anyone to do that.

Kerry at OneMom is a Huckabee Ranger, trying to raise money toward a particular goal. I’d invite people to help her out.

Mostly, please, contribute what you can. Read the rest of this entry »

The post-Thompson era

It happened with Sam Brownback, and now Fred Thompson … the game to gather the supporters of a withdrawn candidate. I mention those two, and not Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo, because the race wasn’t the same.

There are some who wanted to see Fred Thompson as the perfect all-around conservative. I’m not sure where they will go, since they condemned every other candidate for one failing or another. Read the rest of this entry »
