NH Republican Primary Ballot

As I mentioned, there are people completely up in arms about the fact that Ron Paul didn’t do well in the NH primary. Among their many complaints is that reported votes include a lot of “Other” votes.

Let me demonstrate why a lot of votes get reported as “Other”:

Most people don’t care how many votes Hugh Cort got in NH. (43, by the way, he tied Albert Howard for 12th place). Cornelius O’Connor? Vermin Supreme? Neal Fendig?

If you really want to know the statewide rundown, then it isn’t that hard to find it. Here’s the link that took me about ten seconds to find via Google.

No, even this one doesn’t break down the write-ins, and leaves a line for total write-ins. But since most of those only have 1 or 2 votes, it is really not worth any news reporter’s time to break that down.

So, no, most charts don’t list Vern Wuensche and his vote results (39 statewide). That’s because these simply ceased to matter. I suppose that to the paranoid, “Other” might look suspicious. But if these people would use their notorious Google skills, then they could find out this information.

In any case, have fun with the recounts.
