Mike Huckabee last night

We gathered at the Derryfield Country Club in Manchester (Side note: why isn’t the Derryfield Country Club in Derryfield? Wouldn’t that make more sense?) for the primary party for Gov. Mike Huckabee in NH.

Anyway … inside, of course, there was the usual press mob that accompanies such things. I spoke to a number of Huckabee supporters, and I’d like to tell you about some of them. Read the rest of this entry »

Primary Day in Rochester

My wife and I voted as the polls opened in Farmington, at 8am. Some places opened at 7am, but Farmington is kind of casual that way.

Interestingly, a great many more signs appeared overnight. Until yesterday, I hadn’t seen any signs for Giuliani in Farmington. Yesterday, Main Street was lined with “RUDY” signs. So, instead, I’m going to comment on the results of the NH primary.

I had thought that tonight might cripple both Mitt Romney and Hillary Clinton, because I don’t think that either of them could have survived a second crushing defeat. I was wrong. Sen. Clinton, of course, won the Democratic primary, and Gov. Romney came in close enough as second place that he’s still in the hunt. Read the rest of this entry »
