Torture

There’s lots of talk again about secret White House memos and legal opinions about torture, what’s legal, and what satisfies the actual requirements of the law, what’s right, what’s wrong, and so on.

I would like a nice, simple, straightforward, and credible refusal to use torture under any circumstances. I realize that the Bush administration claims not to use torture, but the Bush administration has always danced around the subject. It might be okay if not on US soil, what does torture really mean, and is the law prohibiting torture Constitutional, anyway?

Criminals Taken Into Custody

Plainfield, NH has been freed from the excessive media spotlight and has lost its two most annoying residents. Ed and Elaine Brown, a couple convicted of tax evasion and constantly insisting that there is no income tax law, and that there is no reason for them to pay these taxes, have been taken into custody.
