Every time I hear someone say that he or she likes one candidate, but is going to vote for someone else because the “someone else” is “electable,” I want to scream. In a republic, people are electable if we vote for them. If enough people stop voting for one party or another because they’re told that no one else can win, and instead vote for candidates that we really want to win, then candidates of principle suddenly become electable.
I have long wanted to write this post, but haven’t figured out exactly how to write it. But Dr. Laurence White posted a blog that says just about everything that I wanted to say. I invite you to check it out.
