Mike Huckabee at the Values Voter Debate — which he won handily, turning in 63% of the vote. Needless to say, second place Ron Paul wasn’t even close. The other “social conservatives” couldn’t be bothered to show up. Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, and Rudy Giuliani had other things to do. That might have to do with the fact that they all have “values voter” baggage — Romney promised to be more aggressive on gay rights than Ted Kennedy, Fred Thompson lobbied for abortionists, and Giuliani is a liberal. One can certainly understand why they wouldn’t want to show up and answer questions from serious social conservatives.

But I digress …
